Hours of Operation

Kindergarten hours are 8.40am to 2:50pm Monday to Friday.

Children attend 5 days a fortnight; 2 days one week and 3 days the alternate week.

The kindergarten operates over four terms per year which align with the State school calendar.

Fees

Kindergarten fees in 2021 are $39.50 per day.  In addition to tuition fees the daily fee also includes a Building Project, Grounds and Fundraising levy.  There is a parent participation fee of $75.00 in Terms 1 and 3 and a Fundraising Levy of $25.00 in Terms 2 and 4.  A Portfolio levy of $15.00 per term provides families access to an electronic portfolio.

Upon your acceptance of a position in our Kindergarten program, a non-refundable Administration Fee of $80.00 per child is payable. A Bond of $140.00 is also payable.  The Bond will be returned to families at the completion of the Kindergarten year should your child remain enrolled for the entire year.

Each family is required to be a financial member of the Bracken Ridge Kindergarten Association Inc, to which a membership fee of $10.00 is attached.  Being a member of the Association gives families the ability to nominate for and vote on committee positions at our Annual General Meeting.

The Management Committee of the Kindergarten endeavours to keep fee increases to a minimum.

How are we funded?

Funding is received from the Queensland Government, through our Central Governing Body, the Gowrie (Qld) Inc which funds a portion of the cost of education for each eligible child in our centre.

The remainder of the cost of operating the Kindergarten is covered by fees of $35.85 per day (current as at 2019 kindergarten year). Additional funds for resources and capital works are raised by the committee through fundraising and grants.

CCB

Prior to July 2018, Bracken Ridge Kindergarten was a Registered Care Provider.  At this time the Federal Government removed this subsidy for children attending Community Kindergartens.  It was not replaced with any other benefit.

QKFS Plus Kindy Support

The Queensland Government has, through the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme (QKFS), assisted Kindergartens to charge fees to families that promote no barrier to access for families.  Further assistance is available to those families who meet one of the following:

Health Care Card Holders
Families, including foster carers, of an eligible aged child must provide the Kindergarten with a copy of your Health Care Card, Veterans Affairs Card or Australian Government Pension Concession Card with automatic Health Care Card entitlements or formal communication, such as a letter, from the relevant agency stating the intent to issue a Health Care Card.

Identifies as being of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander or Australian South Sea Islander
Your family identifies your child as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or Australian South Sea Islander and this is recorded on your child’s enrolment form.

Multiple Birth

This is available to families with multiple births of three or more eligible-aged children.

This subsidy will be detailed on the term’s fee invoice as ‘QKFS Plus Kindy Support’.

The subsidy is only available for the terms during which the concession card is current..
